Last week’s publication of the Regional Legal 500 cited Joanne Major as one of the Leading Individuals in Legal Practice. She is the only Family Lawyer to have been listed and is quoted as being “a strong communicator and a force to be reckoned with”. Similarly Major Family Law was commended: “Relative newcomer Major Family Law had a very successful year, and is highly regarded by clients and peers,” with the team “at the top of the pile in this area”.

It has indeed been another remarkable year for Major Family Law.  The progressive Family Law firm based in Ponteland is the fastest growing niche practice in the region and continues to take new instructions from both the UK and abroad. The firm is praised time and again for its”focus on exceptional client care” and “has a strong children law arm”.

In less than three years, Major Family Law has grown from sole-trader Joanne Major working alone at her kitchen table to one of the most admired specialist law practices in the North. Major Family Law is now recognised as “First Tier” in Legal rankings alongside some of the most established large City Centre firms.

The Legal 500 notes that Major Family Law “continues to flourish and grow”.

Joanne says:

“This is where our skills and expertise as specialists in the field come into their own. If necessary, we are able to draw upon our network of national experts, ranging from forensic accountants to private investigators, from King’s Counsel to international specialist lawyers to assist with the nuances of implementation and enforcement. “

Major Family Law are increasingly winning cases involving an international element. Clients home and away seek advice on arrange of matters including offshore trusts and assets, maintenance enforcement abroad and pre-nuptial agreements with an international basis.

“Essentially, we can act with speed and skill in protecting our client’s assets and family life. In this shrinking world the boundaries blur, but legal clarity is our Major asset”.
